Summary Of The Offer

Term
One year from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025 – This is backdated to the expiry dates of your last agreement

Industrial relations
Agreement for two meetings per year with delegates

Wages
Agreement that when the legislated Pay Equity settlement is reached it will be applied to workers.

Pay Rates
3% for all workers excluding Caregivers/HCA’s
3.2% for all Caregivers/HCA’s

Your team did argue that it should be 3.2% for all, but the employer would not move as Caregivers/HCA’s had a lower increase last two years. Your team decided to accept the offer for members to vote on.

Uniforms
Your delegates raised with the company that in many instances the unforms supplied were not designed to fit the range of body sizes. The company agreed to continue to work with a delegation from our negotiation team to ensure that company uniforms are designed to and manufactured appropriately to comfortably fit a range of body sizes.

Tikanga and infection control
Company agreed to review purported instances of Caregivers being asked to prepare food and the potential implications from a tikanga and infection control perspective

Domestic Aids and Cleaners
The parties acknowledged they have a different perspective regarding a distinction between the roles of Domestic Aids and Cleaners. This will be discussed further during the term of the agreement. E tū will be investigating, discussing and reviewing role descriptions with this group and collecting further information to inform the discussions and actions required. Organisers will discuss this with delegates and the affected employees.
