Oceania – Aged Care -Ratifications 2024

Your E tū and NZNO bargaining team have negotiated a settlement on pay and conditions they believe are ready for your vote.

Your bargaining team has been working hard to get this offer, including mediation.

A big thank you, ngā mihi nui, goes out to the union members at Oceania Elmwood who picketed and voted to take strike action at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday 23 September 2024. Their actions and the threat of embarrassment at the event got Oceania back to the table quickly. Elmswood is over 90% unionised and shows the power you can have if you all stand together.

Ratification – What’s the deal?

Keep an ear out for face-to-face meetings at your care facility between now and Friday 11 Oct.
You must come to one of these meetings to have your voice and vote counted.

Ratification meetings will be held at each care facility where we have members.

The meetings must be completed by Friday 11 October 2024 and online voting will close by 2 pm Monday 14 October 2024.

For now, it is important to pass the message around to all the workers at Oceania, members and non members. If they want to know what the deal is for pay and conditions then they need to be a union member and come to one of the meetings.
