IndustriALL Global Union calls on Sistema Plastics in New Zealand to negotiate a decent collective employment agreement
Dear Mr. Muirhead,
I am writing to you as the General Secretary of IndustriALL Global Union, which presents more than fifty million workers in mining, energy and manufacturing sectors throughout the world, including New Zealand, to call on Sistema Plastics to negotiate a decent collective employment agreement with E tū at the Manukau factory in Auckland. Please note that E tū is affiliated to IndustriALL Global Union.
IndustriALL Global Union is outraged with the prevailing working conditions–which include working 60 hours a week for minimum wage, minimum sick leave, and with minimum health and safety–and your management’s refusal to offer any additional increase in wages or conditions beyond the legal minimum required in New Zealand.
Therefore, it is imperative that Sistema Plastics negotiate in good faith with the E tū union a collective employment agreement with decent pay and conditions.
I look forward to your prompt action and reply.
