MBIE submission for affected E tū members
The Government is proposing to remove the requirement to pay the Living Wage for their cleaning, security, and catering contracts. If this goes ahead, there will be no requirement for workers to get the Living Wage for their work in the public service, such as cleaning and guarding government buildings, or providing catering for government services.
We need to tell the Government how important the Living Wage is for you, and stop them making this heartless decision.
If you work as a cleaner, security guard, or catering worker for a government service, then please use the form below to tell the decision makers why they need to keep the Living Wage requirement in their procurement rules.
(If you are not an affected worker, but would like to make a submission anyway, please click here to make a submission using the Living Wage Movement’s simple submission form instead.)
