National Executive candidates South Island Vice-President 2023

Paul Johnstone

Hello, my name is Paul Johnstone, and I am asking for your vote to elect me as the South Island Vice President.

I am asking for your vote so I can be your voice on our National Executive.

In this role I will represent you and our fellow union members from your worksite because your members are my members too.

Democracy in our union is important, it is important that every voice is heard and made to feel like they have been heard. If nine people are supporting the popular opinion I will voice the unpopular opinion, even if I don’t agree with it, to make sure all options are taken into consideration.

I will ask the difficult questions, to make sure our members are being put first.

Thank you for your time.

Vote Paul Johnstone for your South Island Vice President.

Don Pryde

Hi, I’m Don Pryde. I’m an electrician working in the power supply industry and I’m seeking your support to be the South Island Vice President for E tū.

I’m putting my name forward for this position as I believe I have the skills to make a meaningful contribution and to support and carry on the good work being done by our Nat Exec.

I have been a union member all my working life and I also have considerable governance experience having previously been on the E tū Nat Exec. I have also served on the Electrical Workers Registration Board, and I was elected by the Board as their Presiding Member. I have also served on the Connexis Board of Directors. I was on this board from 2011 until its merger with Te Punga last year.

Thanks for considering me for this position. With your help, we can continue making life better for the working people of New Zealand.
