E tū Education and Training Foundation

Build skills. Open opportunities. Strengthen communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.

We’re a registered charitable trust (established 2008) supporting education, training, and skills development for workers and communities across New Zealand. We operate as a not-for-profit organisation with strong governance, financial oversight, and transparent reporting.

Our purpose: to help workers access learning and gain the skills they need for secure, meaningful work.

We believe:

  • Education creates opportunity
  • Skills create security
  • Knowledge creates power

When workers grow, communities grow stronger.

We help remove barriers to learning—so more people can build confidence, capability, and a better future for themselves and their whānau.

Why this matters

Work is changing fast—and the skills people need are changing too. But access to training isn’t always shared equally.

Across New Zealand, many workers face barriers to training, career development, and secure employment. Without support, these barriers can limit individual potential and reduce the strength of entire communities.

That’s where the Foundation makes a difference.

What your support does

Your donation helps:

  • Open access to training in skilled trades and service industries
  • Provide education about workplace rights and opportunities
  • Support digital learning and future-ready skills
  • Strengthen participation and community connection through learning
