Current E tū fee rates

The E tū membership fees from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 are as follows.

Deductions are based on a 52-week year and should be taken from an employees’ paid leave.
Please do not deduct from periods of unpaid leave or ACC.

Work hoursWeekly fee rateFortnightly fee rate
35 or more hours per week$9.20$18.40
20 to 34 hours per week$7.35$14.70
Under 20 hours per week$4.60$9.20

It’s E tū policy that our membership fees increase each year on 1 April in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from the previous year, ending in December.

As the CPI increase for the year to December 2022 is 7.2%, our fees increased by this amount from 1 April 2023.
This E tū fee policy was voted on by members when E tū was first established and is part of the union’s policy.

Solidarity Membership

Members may choose to upgrade their membership type, so that they are both a regular member and a Solidarity Member.

The Solidarity fee rate ($2, or $4 or $6 or $10 per week) is in addition to the regular membership fee rates.

For example, if a member (working 35 or more hours per week) upgrades to Solidarity membership for the $2 weekly amount, their fee total on or after 1 April 2023 would be $11.20 per week ($9.20 + $2 Solidarity upgrade).
