New delegate welcome meeting
Every few months, we run introductory meetings for new delegates.
The aim of the meeting is so you can meet fellow delegates and learn about E tū before you do your official training.
Watch this space for details of upcoming welcome meetings.
The delegate’s term
Once elected, there is no maximum term for a delegate, however if an election is called, you will need to be re-elected by your site. This is detailed in the 2024 E tū rules.
If you wish to step down as a delegate, please inform your organiser and email support@etu.nz.
How do I become a delegate?
There are several steps to becoming a delegate.
First steps
- Inform your organiser that you wish to become a delegate
- Talk to other delegates about the role (if there are any)
- Put your name forward for the role (or have a workmate put your name forward with your agreement) to start the election process.
Delegate election
Then, you need to be elected as a delegate. For your workplace election, you’ll need:
- ONE member to nominate you
- ONE member to second that nomination – This cannot be the same person or the person being elected.
When you’re elected, you’ll need to fill in the delegate election form below.
If you need help with any part of this process, please contact your organiser, or email support@etu.nz
