THURSDAY, 1 MAY 2025
After the awesome cross-union action ‘Fight Back Together – Maranga Ake’ last year, we’re going to be having round two on May Day, Thursday 1 May 2025. May Day is also known as International Workers Day, which is marked across the globe by celebrating our wins while keeping focussed on the challenges ahead.
Once again, events will happen up and down the country, with union members leading a discussion about what we need and how we are going to win it. A core theme will be the current Government’s continued attacks on workers, and calling on the wider community to support us as we defend our employment rights, health and safety, Te Tiriti of Waitangi, and more. A number of workplaces will be participating in these rallies as paid stop-work meetings, and we will communicate with those members about the plan as soon as details are confirmed. But all E tū members are encouraged to come along – so save the date!
More details will be posted on this page when available. Check back here for specific times and locations of events across the country.
