Save the date: 23 October 2024
Save the date! On 23 October, unions across Aotearoa will meet to Fight Back Together – Maranga Ake! These hui are all about standing up against an anti-worker Government and building our workers’ campaign to defend our rights. Already the Government has stripped away essential protections and opportunities for workers and our communities. They plan to do a lot more. These hui will be an important milestone in the union movement’s ongoing mobilisation to stand up, fight back, and stay united in the face of attacks.
It’s about our rights as workers. It’s about our rights as tāngata whenua and tauiwi to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi. It’s about protecting a public health system that is vital for our community wellbeing. Let our voices be loud and clear against the Government’s destructive and divisive agenda.
Note: Most people will need to arrange their own leave and transport for these events. A small number of workplaces will be able to attend these as paid stop-work meetings, and we will be communicating with those members separately.
