Kia ora,
E tū is getting prepared for the nationwide ‘Fight Back Together – Maranga Ake’ events on 23 October! These events are open to all union members as well as members of the public, to stand together in strong opposition to the current Government’s attacks on workers and our communities.
If you have been directed to this page by email or text message, then your site has been chosen to participate in these events as paid stop-work meetings, under Section 26 of the Employment Relations Act. This means that if you are scheduled to be working during the time of your local event, you can be paid to attend for the 1-hour duration, as well as half an hour before and after the event for travel, and any break time you can take as well.

Different workplaces have different rules and requirements for attendance. Please talk with your delegates and/or your union organiser for more information about what is happening at your workplace. There are transport arrangements for some identified sites as well, and we encourage carpooling and using public transport from other sites.
We need to keep a record of everyone who is attending these events. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to let us know that you’re coming along.
If you would like more information, please contact your delegates, your union organiser, or our member support organisers by emailing support@etu.nz or calling 0800 186 466. You can also click here to see more general information about the events.
